I’m Melissa, an artist, graphic designer, technical news director, and lifelong lover of all things creative. My world lives somewhere between the control room and the craft table, where storytelling, design, color, and imagination come together. Whether I’m creating artwork, designing something new, or making something by hand, I’m happiest when I bring ideas to life and share creativity with others.

BROADCAST DIRECTOR & GRAPHIC ARTIST
Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (KRNV & KRXI) · 2016 - Current
Direct news broadcasts using Ross OverDrive, a one-person operating system.
Create logo-based monitor graphics using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
Create animations in Adobe After Effects for air.
Preset camera shot and audio level codes in Avid iNews.
Place graphics in Avid Xpression.
GRAPHIC ARTIST & PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Inter-Mountain West Communications, Inc. (KRNV) · 2011 - Current
Responsible for all on-air graphic elements.
Created several full graphics packages for on-air shows.
Designed many logos, including the current My News 4, Skyvision, and Nevada Proud logos.
Traveled to Texas & Washington, D.C. to set up and install graphics packages in Avid Deko.
Also traveled to Las Vegas for designing the logo reveal for the Nevada Broadcasters Association.
Checked the grammar and formatting of all graphics daily.
STUDIO MANAGER
Auburn Area Access Inc. · 2007 - 2011
Scheduled, filmed and edited various in-studio shows.
Created the schedule and set the playback for all on-air programming.
Produced and edited the Western States 100 Documentary, in partnership with the Auburn City Council.
Storyboarded, shot and edited an Every 15 Minutes video, along with the Placer High School District and the Regional Occupational Program (ROP).
